David Yurman Cable Classics

So.... This bad boy will be mine pretty soon :-). I've been wanting a David Yurman bracelet for as long as I can even remember, but never bothered to take a minute to stop and check the price tag on one of those beauties. A couple of weeks ago I walked into Nordstrom and stumbled into the fine jewelry section out of random curiosity (and maybe self torture) to gawk at the David Yurman pieces. I saw this particular bracelet and immediately fell in love with the color. I thought it was peridot, which probably added to my immediate interest since my birthstone is peridot, but the sales lady told me it was lemon citrine. I asked to try it on, and of course the inevitable happened. I fell in love. The way it looked on my wrist is just indescribable. It obviously belonged on my wrist, and I HAD to have it. I asked for the price fully expecting her to say it would be well in the $1200 range, but to my (pleasant) surprise she told me it was $595. I mean granted, $595 is still pricey and a decent amount of money, but that is definitely doable considering I automatically assumed the bracelet was around $1200+. I just recently splurged on my first classic designer piece (the Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy 40), but have decided that this David Yurman is my next big purchase. I figure these items are more than just frivolous purchases, rather they're investment pieces. I know these are things I will have with me for the rest of my life, and all of my decisions are strategic in that I choose to buy timeless, classic, pieces. My collection will one day be amazing :-) I'm really looking forward to the next couple of years to see what else I decide to add to my collection.
