Austin City Limits

So line-up was released today at midnight, and tickets went on sale at 10am CST. I made sure to stalk the website as soon as line-up was posted + buy my tickets asap. There are a ton of amazing artists/bands playing (as there always is) but as soon as I saw Vampire Weekend for the Friday sale, I was like "alright, Friday it is." I'll be seeing them along with Spoon, The Black Keys, Beach House, The Strokes, Miike Snow, and loooots more. I think Friday was a great day to choose. I'm bummed Phoenix and Passion Pit aren't playing this year-- I know they were there last year, and was hoping to see at least one of the two this year. I just purchased my ticket this morning as soon as I woke up, and am SUPER STOKED! ACL 2010 will be amazing, I'm sure. :-)

Egyptian Magic Cream

Egyptian Magic Cream. It's been around for a while and there has been HUGE media buzz over this stuff. It's been in countless magazines alongside the praise of many celebrities, as well as bloggers and their commenters. It's basically a cream that has somewhat of a similar consistency to Vaseline, but is thicker and oilier when applied. It's made of 6 natural ingredients, one of them being royal jelly (which is extremely rare) and is really just an-all natural product. It's a multipurpose cream- it can be used to treat eczema, acne scars, stretch marks, etc. and can be used as a moisturizer, lip balm, and even a hair product for your dry ends! I haven't tried it YET, but I've done quite a bit of research on it (which includes youtube videos/reviews/results, blogs, customer ratings, and the like) and am going to go out and buy it tomorrow! The product is somewhat pricey- around $36 per 4oz jars, but is worth it because it apparently lasts a VERY long time. I'm definitely going to give this a try and see what the hype is about. The reviews I read were all across the spectrum from good to bad but I'll just have to see for myself!

Flaxseed Oil

I can't even beging to tell you the wonders this little guy does. Two - three softgels a day and I'm golden. I'm not going to list all of the benefits (because there are literally pages worth), but I just wanted to blog about this because it's something that should be a part of every health conscious person's life. Flaxseed oil has definitely helped me in a number of ways-- as a frequent jogger I'm amazed at what this stuff has done for my endurance level. I also know a woman who started feeding her EXTREMELY old dog, Lucky, some flaxseed oil with every meal. She says it's done wonders for her dog from everywhere ranging from her physical health to her coat. This thing is definitely powerful and it's been part of my daily regime for a very long time, and I plan on keeping it that way for the rest of my life!

David Yurman Cable Classics

So.... This bad boy will be mine pretty soon :-). I've been wanting a David Yurman bracelet for as long as I can even remember, but never bothered to take a minute to stop and check the price tag on one of those beauties. A couple of weeks ago I walked into Nordstrom and stumbled into the fine jewelry section out of random curiosity (and maybe self torture) to gawk at the David Yurman pieces. I saw this particular bracelet and immediately fell in love with the color. I thought it was peridot, which probably added to my immediate interest since my birthstone is peridot, but the sales lady told me it was lemon citrine. I asked to try it on, and of course the inevitable happened. I fell in love. The way it looked on my wrist is just indescribable. It obviously belonged on my wrist, and I HAD to have it. I asked for the price fully expecting her to say it would be well in the $1200 range, but to my (pleasant) surprise she told me it was $595. I mean granted, $595 is still pricey and a decent amount of money, but that is definitely doable considering I automatically assumed the bracelet was around $1200+. I just recently splurged on my first classic designer piece (the Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy 40), but have decided that this David Yurman is my next big purchase. I figure these items are more than just frivolous purchases, rather they're investment pieces. I know these are things I will have with me for the rest of my life, and all of my decisions are strategic in that I choose to buy timeless, classic, pieces. My collection will one day be amazing :-) I'm really looking forward to the next couple of years to see what else I decide to add to my collection.

LL Bean Boat & Tote

So I just got my LL Bean Bote & Tote tote bag recently, and can honestly say that I'm IN LOVE. I've been meaning to get something LL Bean for a very long time because of the reputation it has for its quality, but just kept forgetting or simply not thinking about it! These bags really do last forever-- I know several people who have had theirs for crazy numbers like 7 years, 18 years, etc. I'm very excited about mine. I'm generally a trend fiend/detail oriented/picky with bags, but this LL Bean is a classic. It's clean, simple, and just overall very classic. I'd recommend this to anyone! I got the large zip-top in navy. It's huge, but will make for a GREAT weekender bag, groceries, whatever. They're extremely affordable (as they should be, right, since they're plain canvas bags) and I just love how mine looks with my three initials :-).

Death Cab and Nail Polish

Somehow I always find myself most relaxed when I'm listening to some death cab and painting my nails. Not exactly some spa treatment, but it's got to count for some form of extreme relaxation. You can never go wrong with some death cab :-). A lot of people say they're depressing but I don't think so at all. It's probably because my first constant exposure of their music is credited to summertime and lazy poolside days with Florence, a best friend of mine from high school. We would literally lay poolside every single day and have death cab on loop. That's true relaxation right there!
